The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) is one of the eleven electricity distribution companies that emerged after the unbundling of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).The company is saddled with the primary responsibility of distributing and marketing electricity to end users within the five states in the South-East geo-political zone; namely: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo, with a total of 18 Business Districts offices across these states.

Job Descriptions of a System Administrator:

  • We are looking for a “System Administrator” who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the infrastructure.

You might be interested in:

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree
  • Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for minimum 3+ years
  • IN depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
  • Hands on experience with MySQL and/or Postgresql, MongoDB
  • Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
  • Expert in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
  • Strong problem solving, collaboration and communication skills
