Job description: General Manager Supply Chain and Logistics

As such, Boral requires a commercially minded General Manager Supply Chain and Logistics to be responsible for the oversight of all Southern region (Vic/Tas/SA/WA) depots and fleet networks for Supply Chain & Logistics. This includes the safe, efficient and effective management of fleet, company drivers, sub-contractors, haulier/LOD’s, rail head and inter-modal operations. You will be working with the appropriate Sales teams and Supply Chain & Logistics operations to ensure provision of product and service to customer needs and expectations, providing a seamless customer experience.

About you:

As the General Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics, you can naturally manage a complex network of production and operating sites to deliver optimised operating performance and service outcomes. You champion a collaborative mindset – and easily communicate with employees, partners, senior stakeholders, and customers. The role requires a blend of people, commercial, visionary and practical skills and experience. It will also require a high comfort level in managing and adapting in a fast-changing, fast-growing environment.

Key Experience and Skills:

This position will suit a Leader with 10+ years experience delivering large or transformational commercial outcomes. A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Manufacturing is mandatory. Having a ‘challenge-the-status-quo’ spirit – and someone who is a strategic thinker but also comfortable with practical, hands-on execution is essential. In addition, a demonstrated track record across the following areas will set you up for success;

  • Meeting Supply Chain cost saving & agreed operations standardisation goals
  • DIFOTIC
  • Truck turns per day & loaded capacity per annum
  • Financial reporting, cost management & budget control
  • Capital Management
  • Meeting all compliance obligations for IR, H&S, Welfare and Environment, Statutory (EPA & PIRSA)
  • High level of behavioural safety competency and a ‘safety before production’ work ethic
  • Ability/experience to execute in a dynamic competitive environment
  • Ability to build and lead a high-performing team driving forward thinking cultural leadership
  • Developing and executing profitable innovative growth strategies
  • Experience managing in diverse teams, stakeholders and partners
